〇People who can make a reservation using this system (applicants, etc.)
Anybody with a residence card can use this system to make a reservation.
Note that to make an application, either the applicant, their legal representative, a relative of the applicant, a person cohabiting with the applicant, or other equivalent person who the director of the Regional Immigration Services Bureau recognizes to be appropriate (*) must come to the bureau.

If the applicant is less than 16 years of age or is unable to appear due to illness or other reason, and if the purpose of the application is: [1] an application for change of status of residence; [2] an application for extension of period of stay; [3] an application for permission to acquire status of residence; or [4] an application for permission for permanent residence, a relative of the applicant, a person cohabiting with the applicant, or other equivalent person who the director of the Regional Immigration Services Bureau recognizes to be appropriate may come to the bureau instead of the applicant and make the application.
This system cannot be used for applications for the granting of a certificate of eligibility for resident status, renewal of the validity period of a Residence Card, reissuance of a Residence Card due to loss, and re-entry permit e.t.c..
〇Notes when visiting the bureau (applicants, etc.)
If the applicant does not come to the bureau and a legal representative, a relative of the applicant, a person cohabiting with the applicant or other equivalent person visits the bureau to make the application on the applicant’s behalf, they must bring the following:
[1] Application form signed by the applicant or their legal representative;
[2] Documentation certifying the relationship between the applicant and the person visiting the bureau; and
[3] Documentation certifying the status of the person visiting the bureau.

In addition, if the applicant is unable to appear in person due to illness or other reason, and a relative, a person cohabiting with the applicant or other equivalent person visits the bureau to make the application on the applicant’s behalf, in addition to the above, they must also bring [4] a medical certificate, etc., as explanatory documentation, and [5] a written statement of the reason (optional form).
